Biography

Javier Arsuaga is a Professor of Mathematical Molecular Biology and Genetics at the University of California, Davis. He obtained his PhD from Florida State University in 2000. His research primarily focuses on developing mathematical computational methods to address questions arising from the study of 3D chromosome structures. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, he has been actively developing new mathematical data science methods to study the evolution of SARS-CoV-2 variants.
