Biography

Jay Ebert completed his PhD focusing on cartilage repair and biomechanics exercise rehabilitation at the University of Western Australia (UWA) in 2008, where he was awarded the Exercise Sports Science Australia (ESSA) Medal. He is actively involved in the School of Human Sciences at UWA as a Senior Lecturer and researcher specializing in musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Ebert coordinates and lectures the course SSEH5651 (Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation) and conducts clinical research concerning the development of pre-and post-operative exercise rehabilitation protocols aimed at improving patient outcomes in articular cartilage surgery of the knee. He has extensive experience managing patients with musculoskeletal conditions, emphasizing lower limb injuries and post-operative rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery. Ebert also serves as the Director of the Orthopaedic Research Foundation of Western Australia and the Director of Research at the Perth Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Research Institute. He has been an Accredited Exercise Physiologist since 2002 and was named the Exercise Physiologist of the Year by ESSA in 2010. His research interests align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, aiming to enhance patient outcomes through effective rehabilitation practices.
