Biography

Jay P. Telotte is a Professor Emeritus at Georgia Tech's Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, where he served in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication. He earned his PhD in English from the University of Florida. Telotte joined Georgia Tech as an Assistant Professor in 1979 and was promoted to Professor in 1991. He is a specialist in film history and genres, having authored ten books and edited four, along with publishing over 150 scholarly articles. His recent works include 'Animating Space' (2010), 'Science Fiction Film, Television, Adaptation: Screens' (2012), and 'Robot Ecology in Science Fiction Film' (2016). He co-edits the film journal Post Script and has served on numerous editorial boards. His academic service includes roles such as Director of Undergraduate Studies and representative on the Faculty Senate. His teaching has focused on Film Technology, Disney, and Science Fiction, among other topics.
