Jay Todd is a Leverhulme Research Fellow in the School of Geographical and Earth Sciences, focusing on queer and trans geographies, particularly the everyday lives of transgender and gender-diverse individuals in the UK. His current research, funded by the Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship, examines gender-diverse people's strategies for navigating UK society from the late 20th century onwards. He holds a PhD in Human Geography from Durham University, where his thesis explored the everyday lives of young transgender people in the UK, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Geography from Durham University. With over ten years of teaching experience in higher education, he is recognized as a first-generation scholar. He co-directs the Glasgow Lab for Intersex, Non-Binary, and Trans Studies (GLINTS), and his research interests include queer and trans liberation, trans histories, bodily geographies, and participatory action research methodologies. Throughout his career, Todd has been actively engaged in academic collaborations and has served in various leadership roles within the university.
