Biography

Jay Vary is an Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Washington, where he also serves as the Director of Clinical Operations. He specializes in general medical dermatology with a focus on educating patients about skin diseases and empowering them to take command of their medical care. Vary works closely with medical students and residents at the UW Medical Center–Roosevelt Dermatology Center, which serves both the general public and as a referral center for the UW Medical Center and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. His clinical interests include Hidradenitis Suppurativa, Isotretinoin pharmacology, and health equity in dermatology. He has extensive training, including an MD and PhD from the University of Washington and has completed his dermatology residency there. He is committed to teaching the next generation of dermatologists and is actively involved in patient education to promote awareness and understanding of dermatological conditions.
