Biography

Jayakar V. Nayak is an Associate Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at Stanford University. He received his BA with a concentration in Neurosciences from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his MD/PhD (in Immunology) at the University of Pittsburgh. Following this, he completed his residency in otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh and is pursuing additional Fellowship training in Rhinology and Endoscopic Sinus/Skull Base Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Nayak's expertise lies in both congenital and acquired genetic nasal and sinus disorders, focusing on a variety of treatment alternatives, including medical and surgical options. He leads a translational research laboratory with interests in nasal epithelial biology, upper airway immunology, and chronic diseases such as cystic fibrosis and rhinosinusitis. Dr. Nayak has received numerous honors for his work, including the Commander Strike Fighter Wing Pacific Top Notch Award and the Triological Society Career Development Award. He is dedicated to identifying safe and effective methods to treat debilitating inflammatory and infectious sinus disorders, improving the quality of life for patients globally.
