Jean-Claude Marsan is an architect, professor, writer, urban planner, researcher, and consultant dedicated to the defense and promotion of Montreal's urban and architectural heritage for nearly 30 years. Upon returning to Montreal, he published his doctoral thesis, 'Montréal en évolution,' which traces the historical development of Montreal's architecture and environment. Marsan has been a founding member and board member of several advocacy groups focused on preserving urban heritage, including the Héritage Montréal Foundation. He has also played a pivotal role in developing the Faculty of Environmental Design at the Université de Montréal, serving as the director of the School of Architecture and the faculty's dean.
