Biography

Jean-Claude Tardif is the director of the research center at the Montreal Heart Institute and a professor of medicine at the Université de Montréal. He obtained his medical doctorate in 1987 from the Université de Montréal and completed his cardiology training at Tufts University in 1994. Dr. Tardif holds the Canada Research Chair in Personalized Medicine and has a chair in Atherosclerosis at the Université de Montréal. He is the scientific director of the Montreal Health Innovations Coordinating Center and has led various national committees. His research focuses on the molecular and genomic aspects of atherosclerosis and related diseases, including extensive clinical and observational studies as well as large international clinical trials. Dr. Tardif's significant contributions to the field have earned him various awards, including the Armand-Frappier Prize from the Government of Quebec and recognition as a member of the Royal Society of Canada. He has published over 600 scientific articles and continues to lead groundbreaking research in cardiovascular medicine.
