Biography

Jean-Jacques Herings is a professor of Quantitative Microeconomics in the Department of Econometrics and Operations Research at Tilburg University. His research focuses on cooperative game theory, non-cooperative game theory, networks, general equilibrium theory, and equilibrium computation. He has been awarded significant grants, including the prestigious VICI grant from NWO. Herings received the Johannes Cornelis Ruigrok Prize in 1997 and the Lionel W. McKenzie Prize in 2008 for his contributions to the field. He is closely involved with the Game Theory Society, having served on the council from early 2011 until 2017, was made a fellow in 2017, and acted as secretary treasurer from 2014 to 2022. In 2019, he was appointed as a fellow of the Society for Advancement of Economic Theory. He has published in leading journals in his area of interest, such as Econometrica, Journal of Economic Theory, Management Science, and Mathematics of Operations Research.
