Biography

Jean-Paul Vulliéty is a Full Professor of Business Law at the University of Geneva's Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM). He holds a Ph.D. in International Business Law, awarded summa cum laude. Vulliéty has extensive experience as an attorney-at-law and has been a partner at the law firm LALIVE since 1998, advising clients on international commercial transactions governed by Swiss law and other foreign laws. His expertise encompasses corporate commercial law and dispute resolution across various sectors, including life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, luxury goods, transportation, energy, commodities, and real estate. In addition to his practice, Vulliéty has been involved in over 80 commercial arbitration proceedings, serving as counsel and arbitrator. He has been active in professional associations, including the Swiss Arbitration Association and the Union Internationale des Avocats, and has chaired the International Sales Commission. Vulliéty has held academic positions at the University of Geneva since 2003 and currently directs the Master Diploma in International Trading.
