Biography

Jean-Philippe Thérien (PhD, Paris) is a specialist in global governance, international organizations, and the inter-American system. His recent research focuses primarily on the globalization of public policies, the transformation of North-South relations, and the globalization of ideologies. In 2009, he received (along with Alain Noël) the Prize from the Canadian Political Science Association for the best book published by Canadian authors in the field of international relations (Left Right Global Politics, Cambridge University Press, 2008). He also received the Distinguished Scholar Award in 2026 from the Canadian branch of the International Studies Association.
