Biography

Jean-Pierre Lavoie is an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Université de Montréal. He has extensive expertise in equine respiratory diseases, particularly in models of equine asthma. His academic contributions include numerous postdoctoral fellowships focusing on respiratory function in horses and formal training as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Lavoie's research primarily investigates the role of neutrophils in airway remodeling and inflammation in equine asthma. He has led several significant research projects examining the pathogenesis and reversibility of these conditions, supported by various funding sources. Lavoie actively supervises graduate students, guiding their research in related fields.
