Biography

Jean-Simon DesRochers has been a professor in literary research-creation at the Department of French Literatures at the Université de Montréal since June 2014. He obtained a doctorate in theories of literary creation from the Université du Québec à Montréal. His research, oriented towards both creation and theory, focuses on theories of literary creation, linking texts on the process of creation, philosophies of the act of creation, and a neo-materialist phenomenological approach. DesRochers is also a writer (novels, poetry, essays, short stories, screenplays) and has been publishing since 1998. His recent book, 'Prélude et suite en noir,' is a poetry collection published in 2024.
