Biography

Jean Deteix completed a doctorate on shape optimization at the University of Montreal. As a postdoctoral researcher and research associate at the Interdisciplinary Research Group on Finite Elements (GIREF) at Laval University, he acquired expertise in high-performance computing and the development of finite element software. Today, he is a full professor at Laval University, with research focused primarily on efficient numerical methods for multiphysics phenomena: contact phenomena, fluid-structure interaction, shape optimization, phase change, and non-Newtonian fluids. He is particularly interested in rigorous mathematical approaches in the context of numerical simulation for industrial purposes. Since 2019, he has been responsible for coordinating the activities of GIREF and managing the partnership with the tire company Michelin.
