Jean Duquette is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Sustainable Energy at Carleton University. His educational background includes a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Materials Engineering from McMaster University, a Master of Science in Renewable Energy from Zaragoza University in Spain, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Victoria. He is engaged in teaching various courses including SREE 4001: Efficient Energy Conversion, MECH 4408: Thermofluids Energy System Design, and MAAE 4907: 4th Year Project Manager – Building-Integrated Thermal Energy Systems. Duquette also supervises the MEng and MASc Programs in Mechanical Aerospace Engineering and the Sustainable Energy Engineering Policy Masters Program. His research interests focus on renewable energy integration including wind, solar, hydro, wave, and biomass systems, as well as modeling and simulation of energy systems, district heating and cooling networks, low energy buildings, and the combined heat and power processes. He is involved with the Building Performance Research Centre and emphasizes the technical, economic, and policy facets of emerging energy systems.
