Dr. Jean Gagnon

Biography

Jean Gagnon is a full professor in the Department of Psychology at the Université de Montréal. He specializes in psychological assessment and personality theories. In addition to his academic duties, he is a clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist. He is actively involved in research and has full membership in the Centre Interdisciplinary Research Rehabilitation Greater Montreal (CRIR) and the Centre de recherche en neuropsychologie et cognition (CERNEC). His teaching focuses on neuropsychology and psychological assessment providing supervision for graduate students in these domains. His research interests include personality disorders, impulsive behavior, hostility, and violence, as well as their implications for psychological intervention. Gagnon collaborates with various institutions, including CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal, and has a history of leading research projects aimed at understanding and reducing hostility and aggression in different contexts. He is also involved in developing innovative psychoeducational training programs aimed at changing hostile attributions among populations, particularly in female detention centers.
