Biography

Jean Khalfa specializes in history, philosophy, modern literature with a focus on contemporary poetry from French North Africa and the Caribbean, aesthetics, and anthropology. Khalfa has contributed to the collected writings of Fanon, and his publications also cover figures such as Pascal, Rousseau, Sartre, Césaire, Glissant, and others. He has held a British Academy/Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellowship and is a member of the editorial boards for several academic journals. Khalfa is actively involved in organizing lectures and exhibitions that explore the intersection of poetry and image.
