Jean Lachapelle is an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Montreal. His work on coups d'état, revolutions, democratic erosion, and politics in the Middle East and North Africa has been published in journals such as Journal of Democracy, Journal of Politics, World Politics, Comparative Politics, Social Science Medicine, and International Political Science Review.
