Dr. Jean Moody Williams

Biography

Jean Moody-Williams is a core faculty member in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Executive Leadership Track at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. As Deputy Director at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), she is an integral member of the leadership team overseeing a workforce of over 850 employees and managing a budget of $3 billion. Ms. Moody-Williams is deeply involved in developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives and public reporting programs within CMS, including the Medicare Quality Payment Program. Her expertise has evolved from years of leadership roles in various healthcare organizations, including the Maryland Health Care Commission and Quality Improvement Organizations, where she focused on enhancing patient care. She has received numerous accolades for her leadership, including the Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medal and the President of the United States Meritorious Rank Award. Beyond her administrative roles, she has contributed to the field through her authorship of technical papers and nursing textbooks, including 'Journey: Patient Centered Care: Patients, Family, Caregivers' Voices in Transformation.'
