Professor Dr. Jean Ntakirutimana

Biography

Jean B. Ntakirutimana is an Associate Professor at Brock University specializing in Linguistics and language education. He obtained his PhD and MA in Linguistics from the University of Montreal and holds a BA in African Linguistics and Literatures from the University of Bujumbura. His research interests encompass a broad range of linguistic domains, including morpho-lexicology, lexicography, terminography, syntax, semantics, stylistics, and translation. Additionally, he focuses on language learning and contact, with particular emphasis on ecolinguistics and computer-aided lexicography. He is actively involved in interdisciplinary work that explores the complexity of language through multi-level analyses of phonetics and textual structures. Dr. Ntakirutimana teaches various courses, including Intermediate French, Grammar Composition, and Phonetics & Phonology, contributing to the development of language abilities in his students.
