Biography

Jean Théberge is a multi-disciplinary film animator focused on traditional screening films and cinematographic installations in public spaces and galleries. His work integrates actual constructed sets, painting, found objects, photography, and collage. He has participated in group exhibitions and presented short films at numerous international animation and experimental festivals, including those in Tokyo, Zagreb, Windsor, Ottawa, Annecy, and Budapest. Théberge contributed to Maureen Furniss' book 'Animation Bible' published by Harry N. Abrams in 2008. He is also involved in pedagogy, teaching technical aspects of film animation. Since 1997, he has taught courses such as the Technical Aspects of Film Animation and creative production courses at the university level, showcasing his expertise in multi-disciplinary approaches to film animation, stop-motion animation, digital photography stop-motion, and installations.
