Biography

Jeanne Bovet has been a professor in the Department of French Literatures at the Université de Montréal since 2004. She holds a Master's degree in Quebec Literature with a focus on theatre from Laval University, and a Doctorate in French Studies centered on the poetics of voice in classical theatre from the Université de Montréal. Bovet has a background in classical singing and her research primarily explores the integration of declamation in classical dramaturgy and the relationships between voice, text, and media in 20th-century theatre. She is a founding member of the international research group "Theatre Sound" and co-directed the journal "Théâtre/Public" in 2011. Furthermore, she collaborates on projects exploring modern orality and aurality, having published numerous articles in specialized journals and collective volumes on these topics. Her teaching and supervision encompass a range of graduate theses focusing on dramatic representation and its aesthetics, contributing significantly to the field of theatre studies in Quebec.
