Biography

Prof. Jeannette Kuo leads the research integrated design at the Architecture Construction School at the Technical University of Munich. Her work investigates new approaches in sustainable architecture through interdisciplinary projects, with a focus on structures, materials, and climate engineering processes. Current investigations include low-tech performative facades, climate-responsive design for large-scale constructions, and designing for disassembly and re-use. She is also the founder of Material Exchange, a cross-disciplinary platform addressing material topics. Prof. Kuo studied architecture at the University of California at Berkeley, the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, and the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich. She has held prestigious teaching positions at MIT, EPF Lausanne, and Harvard GSD, and was awarded the competitive Maybeck Teaching Fellowship in 2006. In 2022, she was appointed Professor at the Technical University of Munich.
