Biography

Jed Buchwald studied the history of physics and received his PhD from Harvard University in 1974. He taught at the University of Toronto for two decades and served as the director of the university's Institute for History and Philosophy of Science and Technology. In 2001, Buchwald joined the California Institute of Technology as the Doris Henry Dreyfuss Professor of History. He has also directed the Dibner Institute for the History of Science and Technology and has held the position of Bern Dibner Professor of History of Science in Massachusetts.
