Jeff Civins has taught a seminar on environmental litigation each spring for three decades and previously led a seminar on environmental law concerns for businesses. He is a senior counsel at Haynes Boone, LLP in Austin, where he has practiced aspects of environmental law since 1975. As an adjunct professor at the University of Texas School of Law, Mr. Civins has taught seminars on Environmental Law Concerns for Business since 1987 and Environmental Litigation since 1992. He is a co-editor of the Thomson West two-volume treatise, Texas Environmental Law. His work includes advising clients on regulatory requirements, assisting in the evaluation and negotiation of corporate transactions, and representing clients in environmental toxic tort litigation. Mr. Civins is a member of the KBH Energy Center Advisory Council and a fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers. He has served as the past chair of the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and has chaired the Texas Environmental Superconference for its 36 years. Additionally, Mr. Civins chairs the Earthx Law Advisory Council.
