Biography

Jeff Kaller serves as Program Director for the Master of Applied Arts Design program at HDK-Valand Steneby. His academic background includes an MFA in Ceramic Art from The New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and a BFA in Crafts from The University of the Arts. Kaller is a Fulbright recipient who has studied ceramic art at Aalto University in Finland. Before his current role at HDK-Valand, Kaller held the position of Rektor at Stiftelesn Stenebyskolan and was an Associate Professor of Art at Columbus State University in the USA, where he also served as Interim Chair of the Department of Art and participated in study abroad programs in London and Japan. Kaller's studio practice investigates the relationships between structure and surface in pyro-plastic ceramic materials. His work is included in numerous public and private collections, such as the Columbus Museum, San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, and Alfred Ceramic Art Museum at Alfred University.
