Biography

Jeff Smith, PhD Candidate, CCC, is a counselling therapist, music therapist, educator, and researcher residing on the unceded territory of Lekwungen-speaking peoples. His practice focuses on integrating music as therapy, employing methods such as improvisation, songwriting, and sound recording. Jeff's work emphasizes radical youth work, narrative therapy, and trauma-specific therapy, combining these with anti-violence and response-based approaches. He has experience working in addictions and harm reduction within provincial and regional health authorities, alongside university student services, particularly in supporting youth with addictions and mental health challenges and healing survivors of residential school violence and intergenerational colonialism.
