Biography

Jeffrey Andrews holds the Truchard Family Chair in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, where he is also the Director of the 6G@UT research center. He received his B.S. in Engineering with High Distinction from Harvey Mudd College and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Andrews has developed CDMA systems at Qualcomm and has consulted for numerous major companies including Samsung, Nokia, Apple, Verizon, and NASA. He has authored and co-authored several books, including 'Fundamentals of WiMAX' and 'Fundamentals of LTE'. Additionally, he served as Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications and held various leadership positions in IEEE committees. A recognized leader in his field, Andrews is a Fellow of the IEEE and has received multiple prestigious awards, including the IEEE Communications Society & Information Theory Society Joint Paper Award and the Terman Award. His research interests span Wireless Communication, Information Theory, Communication Theory, and Machine Learning, and he is actively involved in the Wireless Networking Communications Group.
