Dr. Jeffrey Beck

Biography

Jeffrey P. Beck is a Professor of English and the Director of the School of Humanities at Penn State Harrisburg. He has a rich background as a literary historian with research focusing on English Renaissance literature, notably his work on the poet George Herbert. He authored the book "Writing Flesh: Herbert Family Dialogue" published by Duquesne University Press in 1999. Additionally, he has published significant works on baseball history, including the book "The American Indian Integration Baseball", released by the University of Nebraska Press in 2006 and a revised edition in 2009. Prior to his current role, he worked at East Tennessee State University and Kean University for a decade. With twenty years in academia, Beck has contributed to the field through teaching and administration, promoting comprehensive understanding of English literature and its historical contexts.
