Biography

Jeffrey L. Carson is an Assistant Professor at Boston University's Questrom School of Business where he teaches Management & Organizations. He has extensive experience in both military and diplomatic sectors, having served with the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Defense. In 2006, he held the rank of 1st Lieutenant and served in Mosul, Iraq during a surge led by General Petraeus. The following year, Carson was a Captain who embedded with the Afghan National Army in Baghlan Province, where he trained the army’s intelligence reconnaissance platoon. Carson commenced his role with the U.S. Department of State in 2010 as a researcher, contributing to various embassies, including those in Baghdad, Iraq, and Kabul, Afghanistan, focusing on Consular Affairs. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Ohio State University and a Doctorate in Law and Policy from Northeastern University. In addition to his academic career, he serves as the Director of Human Resource Operations at Blue Cross Blue Shield and has been the Vice Chancellor for Human Resources at UMass Chan Medical School. Since 2016, he has also been a Board Member for Mi-Amore, a nonprofit organization dedicated to recovering edible food that would otherwise be disposed of.
