Biography

Jeffrey Cheng is a Professor and Head of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery and Communication Sciences at Duke University. He specializes in pediatric otolaryngology and has a passion for taking excellent care of children. After completing his residency training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, he pursued a two-year pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, which provided him with extensive subspecialty training covering a wide range of otolaryngologic pathologies in children. Dr. Cheng has a particular clinical interest in pediatric airway disorders, chronic ear diseases, and anterior skull base surgery. He is committed to the continued growth and development of pediatric aerodigestive programs, hearing loss initiatives, and skull base surgery in a multidisciplinary fashion. His research spans a wide range of pediatric otolaryngology conditions, and he has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications. Currently, he focuses on patient quality and safety as the medical director of quality and safety for the Duke Children's Surgery Program.
