Biography

Jeffrey Erochko is an Associate Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Carleton University. He specializes in Structural Engineering with a focus on wood and timber engineering. His research interests include the design and testing of high-performance seismic-resistant systems, timber buildings, self-centering systems, and structures subjected to earthquake loading. Erochko also explores passive damping isolation systems, hybrid wood/steel, and wood/concrete structures. His expertise extends to nonlinear dynamic modeling of structures, as well as the rehabilitation and retrofit of wood structures using dampers. With a keen interest in teaching, he provides courses on various aspects of wood engineering and performance-based earthquake engineering. Throughout his academic career, he has graduated research students and is dedicated to advancing knowledge in the field of structural engineering.
