Biography

Jeffrey Erochko is an Associate Professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carleton University. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto. His research interests are primarily focused on Wood/Timber Engineering, particularly in structural design, testing, and the development of high-performance seismic-resistant systems for timber buildings. He has contributed significant knowledge in the areas of self-centering systems, passive damping, isolation structures, and rehabilitation of wood structures using dampers, as well as seismic isolation techniques. Professor Erochko is also actively involved in nonlinear dynamic modeling of structures subjected to earthquake loading and has taken on various teaching assignments including courses related to Wood Engineering and performance-based earthquake engineering. He is committed to mentoring graduated research students in these cutting-edge areas of research.
