Jeffrey Horwitz is a Courtesy Affiliate Faculty at Dell Medical School, affiliated with the Departments of Pediatrics, Surgery, and Perioperative Care. Born and raised in Houston, he earned both his undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Texas. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Following this, he completed a general surgical residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He returned to Houston to pursue a fellowship in surgical critical care and ECMO at the University of Texas Medical School, later moving to New Haven, Connecticut to complete a fellowship in pediatric surgery at Yale University. Dr. Horwitz is board certified in pediatric surgery, general surgery, and surgical critical care. His research interests include the correction of congenital anomalies through the use of minimally invasive surgical techniques. He is an active member of several professional associations, including the American Pediatric Surgical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Surgeons, the International Pediatric Endosurgery Group, the Texas Medical Association, and the Travis County Medical Society.
