Biography

Jeff Markuns is the Executive Director for the Global Health Collaborative in the Department of Family Medicine at Boston University's Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. With extensive international experience since 2007, he has played pivotal roles in advancing primary care systems and education globally, particularly in developing countries. His leadership positions include the Interim Senior Medical Director for Community Health Centers at Harbor Health Services, as well as the Executive Director of the Primary Health Care Performance Initiative, where he managed a transition with major funders such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the World Health Organization. As a contributor to medical education globally, he has chaired significant committees and authored essential publications in family medicine and global health.
