Dr. Jeffrey Sonnenfeld

Biography

Jeffrey Sonnenfeld currently serves as the Senior Associate Dean for Leadership Studies and the Lester Crown Professor of Management Practice at the Yale School of Management. He is the founder and president of the Chief Executive Leadership Institute, a nonprofit educational research organization focusing on CEO leadership and corporate governance. Previously, he held a tenured professor position at Emory University's Goizueta Business School and spent a decade at Harvard Business School. Sonnenfeld has published over 100 scholarly articles in leading academic journals such as the Administrative Science Quarterly and the Academy of Management Journal, in addition to authoring eight books, including the award-winning 'Hero's Farewell'. He has also received numerous accolades, including being named the 2023 Greatest Impact Corporate Boards award-winner by Corporate Board Member magazine and the 2022 Professor of the Year by Poets & Quants. His expertise encompasses CEO leadership, corporate governance, ethics, and workplace issues.
