Dr. Jeffrey Wool

Biography

Jeffrey Wool is a Senior Research Fellow at Harris Manchester College, University of Oxford, and a Fellow at the Commercial Law Centre. He has been a key figure in the development of transnational commercial law, jointly instructing a globally offered course on the topic. Jeffrey served as the Condon-Falknor Professor of Global Business Law at the University of Washington School of Law from 2011-2019, where he co-directed the Global Business Law Institute and introduced a course on international business compliance. He is the Secretary General of the Aviation Working Group (AWG), which develops policies and regulations for international aviation financing and leasing. Jeffrey has coordinated AWG's activities since its inception in 1994 and has been instrumental in the development and implementation of the Cape Town Convention. He is also involved in various projects assessing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues in aviation financing and leasing. His recent teaching includes transnational commercial law, comparative commercial law, and international business compliance. As for his research interests, he explores the historical development and economic assessment of transnational commercial law and its compliance with national law.
