Dr. Jemma Hopewell

Biography

Jemma Hopewell is a Professor at the University of Oxford's Medical Sciences Division, where she leads a team of genetic epidemiologists, clinical fellows, and medical statisticians focused on the causes and treatments of cardiovascular disease and arrhythmias. Her extensive background includes leadership roles in significant clinical trials and epidemiological studies. She specializes in the use of genetic and clinical trial-based studies to explore risk factors, pharmacogenetics, and genetic epidemiology related to cardiovascular diseases, particularly looking into Lp(a) and developing predictive models for patient responses to therapies. Professor Hopewell actively collaborates with international consortia and has been involved in high-profile studies such as CARDIoGRAMplusC4D and the UK Biobank.
