Biography

Jennifer Scheuer is an Assistant Professor in the Patti & Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance at Purdue University. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in Printmaking from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a minor in History from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Scheuer has furthered her education through the Professional Printer Training Program at the Tamarind Institute, University of New Mexico. Her artistic research focuses on themes of the human body, history, gender, spirituality, and medicine, with recent artwork and lectures emphasizing the Doctrine of Signatures and visual reflections of interconnected knowledge. Scheuer has a strong affinity for lithography, photogravure, and book arts, and her additional research interests involve digital fabrication resources for printmaking, as well as the historical study of printmaking. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally and has participated in artist-in-residence programs in locations such as Massachusetts, Virginia, Germany, Canada, and Poland.
