Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Jen Sheen. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Jen Sheen is a Professor in the Department of Genetics at Harvard University. Her research focuses on the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying plant responses to various stimuli, including growth, developmental regulators, glucose, energy, hormones, stresses, and pathogen suppression. Sheen's laboratory is particularly interested in developing robust assays to systematically explore plant genome resources in order to uncover novel plant gene functions. The approach used in her research integrates genomic, cellular, biochemical, genetic, proteomic, and bioinformatic tools to discover key regulatory genes and molecules that control diverse plant signal transduction pathways. Recent studies from her lab have unraveled the molecular and biochemical nature of receptors and sensors that mediate responses to glucose, energy, stress, and other factors influencing plant immunity. Sheen is currently exploring the integration of signaling networks in whole plants, focusing on processes such as embryogenesis and senescence.
