Biography

Associate Professor Jenna Mead is a trained medievalist specializing in English literature of the late fourteenth century. Her published research focuses on the works of Geoffrey Chaucer and the inquiry into the afterlives of medieval culture, often referred to as medievalism. She has also published research on Australian women's fiction within the framework of feminist cultural studies. Jenna has a long-term commitment to pedagogy, which has produced several papers on scholarship, teaching, and learning. She served as the Academic Coordinator from 2011 to 2013, during which she established the Bachelor of Philosophy (Hons), an undergraduate research degree at the University of Western Australia. Her roles include being on the Editorial Board for 'Postmedieval: Journal of Medieval Cultural Studies' and a referee for the Screening Past Editorial Committee and the 'Cultural Studies Review.' Her notable contributions include funding efforts aimed at enhancing sustainability in undergraduate research and partnerships with various institutions. Her teaching spans early to late Medieval English Literature, Medievalism, Critical Theory & Research Methodologies, and Australian Literature and Film Studies.
