Biography

Associate Professor Jenni Ilomaki specializes in clinical pharmacy, epidemiology, and public health. She leads a dynamic and expanding research group focused on analyzing administrative claims data. Her team collaborates with a range of government and non-government organizations in Australia and internationally. Jenni has published over 150 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has secured more than AUD 4 million in grant funding. She serves as the Chair of the Pharmacoepidemiology Special Interest Group for the Australasian Society of Clinical and Experimental Pharmacologists and Toxicologists (ASCEPT) and is the Science Lead at the Monash Addiction Research Centre. She is also the Executive Editor for the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology. Jenni graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Kuopio in 1999 and obtained a Master of Science in Pharmacy in 2004. She played a crucial role in establishing Finland's drug information center, KLIK, which handled over 27,000 inquiries during her tenure. After a visiting scholar position at the University of Florida, she returned to Finland to pursue a PhD in alcohol epidemiology at the University of Eastern Finland, where her groundbreaking work earned her recognition as a Young Epidemiologist of the Year by the Finnish Epidemiological Society in 2011.
