Biography

Jennie E. Johnson, MD, AAHIVS, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and a Clinician Educator specializing in infectious diseases, particularly HIV, vector-borne diseases, and travel medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania before obtaining her medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. Following her education, Dr. Johnson completed her residency in internal medicine at Oregon Health Science University and subsequently completed her fellowship in infectious diseases at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. In her role at Brown, she serves as the Associate Medical Director of the Infectious Diseases & Immunology Center and is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at Bryant University and Johnson & Wales University. Dr. Johnson is highly engaged in the medical community and co-founded the HIV Medicine Fellowship program at Brown, where she currently serves as its program director, working alongside Dr. Joseph M. Garland. Her commitment to education and training in infectious diseases is reflected in her involvement with several professional organizations, including the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the American College of Physicians.
