Biography

Dr. Jennifer Baker is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Surgery at UCLA, specializing in Breast Surgery and Complex General Surgical Oncology. She completed her Fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center from 2017 to 2018. Dr. Baker trained in General Surgery at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where she also completed her internship and residency from 2010 to 2017. She is board-certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery since 2017. Dr. Baker's clinical interests encompass breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, particularly focusing on improving oncologic outcomes through precision treatment. Her scientific research is aimed at understanding how exercise impacts breast cancer risk and outcomes, refining surgical management strategies for patients undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy, and enhancing surgical techniques for complex cases, including nipple-sparing mastectomies. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, highlighting significant contributions to the surgical oncology field.
