Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Jennifer Brodbelt. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
The Brodbelt group focuses on the development and application of mass spectrometry to address a variety of biological problems. Our research interests include the development of innovative methods to activate ions to generate informative fragmentation patterns, thus improving the structural characterization of proteins, nucleic acids, and lipids. We are implementing strategies to increase the selectivity of mass spectrometry through the incorporation of chromophores and trackable mass tags, which allow for targeted analysis of complex mixtures. Our laser interfaced ion trap mass spectrometer enables fast, high-energy activation of biological molecules, enhancing our ability to study and analyze complex biological systems.
