Biography

Graduated in medicine in 1994 from McMaster University, she obtained her specialist certification in anesthesiology in 1999. She underwent additional training in obstetric anesthesiology in 2000. She successfully completed her perioperative transesophageal echocardiography exam and received her Testamur from the National Board of Echocardiography in 2008. As an associate clinical professor at the Université de Montréal, Dr. Cogan is actively involved in clinical activities, teaching, research, and administration in the Department of Anesthesiology. Her research interests include perioperative transesophageal echocardiography, aortic valve surgeries, perioperative pain relief, and chronic pain following cardiac surgery. She has greatly contributed to the establishment of the postoperative analgesia service and the organization of the chronic cardiac pain service.
