Biography

Jennifer Dimoff earned her Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Saint Mary’s University and holds a Bachelor of Science from Queen’s University. She joined the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa in 2019, having previously spent years at Portland State University, where she maintains status as Affiliate Faculty. Dimoff is also an Affiliate Faculty member at Oregon Health & Science University. Her primary research interests focus on the intersections of leadership, workplace health and safety, employee training, and development. Dimoff is recognized as the youngest recipient of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Scientist-Practitioner Recognition Award, reflecting a strong endorsement of the scientist-practitioner model in her research work. Her efforts include collaboration with various organizations, both local and international, to develop and deliver evidence-based, practical solutions for real workplace problems. Notably, she co-developed the Mental Health Awareness Training (MHAT)—a scientifically evaluated training program for workplace leaders that demonstrates return on investment. In addition to numerous journal publications and book chapters, she co-edited the book "Leading Occupational Health and Safety: Leadership Behaviors Impact Organizational Safety and Well-Being."
