Biography

Jennifer Ellis is a Senior Lecturer and the Director of Advocacy Programs at Texas A&M University School of Law. With a strong background in advocacy and experiential education, she is passionate about helping students develop practical skills in legal practice. Jennifer holds a Juris Doctor from Texas Wesleyan University and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. Her expertise includes appellate advocacy, trial advocacy, and negotiation. Before her academic career, Jennifer practiced family law and probate with Payma, Kuhnel & Smith, PC. She believes in the importance of teaching students to write effectively and argue confidently while instilling in them the belief that they can achieve success for their future clients. Jennifer enjoys getting to know her students and supporting them in their legal education and competition experiences. Outside of work, she is a family-oriented individual, spending time with her husband and children, while also managing the energy of her active puppies.
