Biography

Jennifer Fiegel-Newlon is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Nursing. With over 23 years of experience in various healthcare settings, she is a dual-certified Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and has been a staunch advocate for mental health care. Jennifer teaches primarily within the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, specifically in the psychiatry DNP track. Her teaching is enriched by her extensive experience with diverse patient populations. Jennifer's clinical scholarship focuses on developing and delivering psychopharmacology education and interprofessional educational experiences in collaboration with the School of Social Work and the School of Pharmacy. She is actively engaged in creating and delivering active learning activities that meet national education standards, both in-person and virtually. In addition to her academic role, she plays an important part in community outreach as Co-Chair of the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative Mental Health Round Table and serves as a board member and treasurer for the Bioethics Network of Upper Midwest. She also holds the position of Medical Director for the Easter Seals Wisconsin Camps Program.
