Biography

Jennifer Gandhi is the Howard Wang ’95 Professor of Global Affairs in the Department of Political Science and Deputy Dean of the Jackson School of Global Affairs at Yale University. Her research interests encompass comparative politics and political economy, with a particular focus on authoritarian regimes and the transitions to democracy. Gandhi's scholarship includes her award-winning book titled 'Political Institutions in Dictatorship' published by Cambridge University Press, along with numerous articles in leading political science journals such as the American Journal of Political Science and the Journal of Politics. Prior to her tenure at Yale, she served as a Professor and Chair of Political Science at Emory University. Gandhi earned her B.A. from Columbia University and her Ph.D. in Political Science from New York University.
